I’m Kent Leininger and am Yours Truly, author of Blan Fou and this website’s administrator. The novel is drawn from my personal memories, notes, and reports collected while in Haiti during 1991 – 1992. The history of Haiti and America is complex and so is this work.
My intent is to testify on behalf of the Haitians who taught and protected me, while surviving themselves. No one in the novel is an actual person, except for public figures. Events happened but did not occur as, when, or where written. Other than Port-au-Prince locations, all other places have been changed or invented.
While this site is the canonical source for Blan Fou, l will also be distributing content on other platforms. I will use pseudonyms when publishing to other channels to help keep the release scheduling organized. However, I will only communicate with readers here on this site.
